Italian forward Ciro Immobile is reportedly being scouted by Sunderland and could very well be the next man travelling to the Academy of Light.
Following the signing of Bayern Munich centre-half Jan Kirchhoff, Allardyce has highlighted the centre-forward position as priority and the 25-year-old could be a fantastic acquisition.
Although his parent club is Borussia Dortmund, he is currently playing for La Liga side Sevilla on loan for the season, however it is understood he is looking for a permanent transfer away from the German side after a disappointing 2014/15 season, of which he reportedly criticised the Borussia fans for, following his move to Spain over the Summer.
The attacker has scored 4 goals in his 15 appearances for the Sevillistas, including three showings in Europe. He also advertises international experience, with 12 caps and a goal to his name for Italy.
Although the last two years haven’t been fantastic for him, Allardyce will be looking to get him back into the form he shown in the Serie A, prior to his move to Borussia in 2013. Immobile boasted 22 goals in 33 league appearances for Torino before completing his move away, a statistic which really can’t be complained about.
