‘I’m convinced we won’t lose tomorrow if we play like we did against city. We’ve got a squad that is ready to deliver the kind of performance that I think the fans enjoyed against Manchester City, even though we didn’t get anything out of it.’

Although the Sunderland boss was happy with how the team played against City, he would still prefer a victory over a great performance. ‘I’d sooner we play against Liverpool and get a result, than against City and lose.’

Saturdays mid-day kick off will be tough challenge for The Black Cats as Man United have look rejuvenated since Wayne Rooney’s return to goal scoring form. If Sunderland do win tomorrow to will remain in the relegation zone as they are currently 4 points behind local rivals Newcastle United.
