Kirchoff states he wants to remain at Sunderland
It is being reported by Richard Mennear of the Sunderland Echo that Jan Kirchhoff is keen to remain at Sunderland for the foreseeable future. Kirchhoff joined from Bayern Munich in January and was instrumental in keeping the Black Cats in the Premier League, he is however only on an 18 month contract which means clubs can approach him in January.
Luckily for new manager David Moyes, Kirchhoff is keen to remain at the club as he said he ‘feels good’ in the North East after getting more playing time than he did in Munich. David Moyes will be keen to get a deal done according to the source as ‘the club would like him to stay’. Moyes values defensive solidity and Kirchhoff could be a long term piece in the Sunderland puzzle.
The German played 15 league games after joining the club in January and the Sunderland faithful will hope he plays many more as he established himself as a consistent performer and a hard worker.
