M’Vila Joins on Loan

It has been confirmed today that Sunderland have signed Rubin Kazan midfielder Yann M’Vila on a season-long loan with a view to make the move permanent next summer.

M’Vila, who has spent time at Inter Milan and French side Rennes, has been described by former club Rubin Kazan as a player with “excellent defensive abilities” and “impressive physical strength.”

Although the player has been known to be a bit of a “bad boy” off the pitch, evidenced in an unauthorised night out while on the U21 squad in 2012, M’Vila seems very enthusiastic about starting his career with the Black Cats.

“I’m very excited to play against Leicester and I’m looking forward to playing my first game in the Premier League,” said the former Rennes man.

The French international recently trained with Dick Advocaat’s squad and says that he was welcomed with open arms.

“I had a very good feeling training with the team, every player welcomed me and the feeling was very good with them so I’m excited for the start of the season.”

The Frenchman is a seasoned player on the international level, making his way up through the ranks from France’s U16 team all the way up to the senior side, where he’s earned 22 caps and scored once. He’s even captained the U19 French squad.

M’Vila is a great signing for the Black Cats and has all the qualities to help hold Sunderland down at the back and maintain defensive stability.

M’Vila is expected to make his Sunderland debut this Saturday when the Black Cats take on Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
