Adam Johnson is set to miss two months of action with a shoulder injury, says Scott Wilson of The Northern Echo. The winger played 90 minutes of Saturday’s 4-2 loss against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, but is now set to miss eight weeks with a disappointing injury.
Adam Johnson’s eight-week absence with a shoulder injury is a major blow. He was one of the few #SAFC bright points at the weekend.

Despite the allegations about Johnson’s personal life, he’s continued to feature regularly and still made 32 appearances in the top flight last season, with 23 of them being starts. He was picked to start against Claudio Ranieri’s team in Leicestershire on Saturday, and garnered praise for his performance but despite that couldn’t prevent his side from going down 4-2.

And he won’t be able to have a say in his team’s fortunes until mid-October, having picked up a shoulder injury which rules him out. The injury reportedly happened in training on Tuesday, and is thought to be a dislocated shoulder. He’s set to have scans to determine the extent of the injury.
The England international has played 104 Premier League games since he moved to the Stadium of Light from Manchester City in the summer of 2012 for £10 million.
