Sunderland are set to seal a double loan deal for Adnan Januzaj and former loan star Fabio Borini. According to reports from Craig Hope of the Mail Online, the Black Cats are set to bolster their ranks with the two loan deals this week.
Despite Borini turning down a permanent £14-million move from Liverpool last summer, it is believed that the Italian would be willing to join the Black Cats, following a season of limited opportunities at Anfield. If Borini, does rejoin Sunderland, it remains to be seen how fans will react, with many still bitter about how last summers transfer sage concluded.
Elsewhere, Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj is expected to complete a season-long loan move to the Stadium of Light this week. With Pedro’s imminent transfer to United from Barcelona, Louis Van Gaal has given the permission for Januzaj to leave temporarily. Sunderland are in desperate need for creativity on the wings, particularly after yesterday’s news that Adam Johnson will miss eight weeks with a shoulder injury.
