According to reports coming from Rik Elfrink of ED in Holland earlier this evening Sunderland are looking to purchase PSV forward Jurgen Locadia.
The Dutch forward, 21, currently plays his football in the Eredivisie, and has a reputation of being a troublemaker. Known for his strong play and tall physique, Locadia would certainly add power and pace to the forward line of Sunderland. However, there is no formal bid tabled from Sunderland as of yet, with the Black Cats assessing their options.
Locadia has 25 goals in 70 games for PSV Eindhoven, an impressive ratio for a player who is yet to turn 22 years of age. Sunderland are looking to strengthen their attack, despite having Jermain Defoe, Danny Graham and Steven Fletcher at the club. Connor Wickham left the Stadium of Light for £9-million earlier this summer, and Sunderland are looking to reinvest, with Lorcadia being one of numerous targets that the Black Cats are hoping to bring through the door before next week’s transfer deadline.
