Liverpool and Sunderland have agreed a fee for Italian striker Fabio Borini, according to Sky Sports, The Black Cats will now hope to complete the deal to allow the Italian striker to move to the Stadium of Light before Tuesday evening’s transfer window closes.
If the deal goes through, Borini will rejoin the club where he was perhaps most prolific and successful during a one-season spell. The deal to take hi, back to the north-east is allegedly worth £10 million overall.
The north-east club originally agreed a £10 million deal for the player last summer, but he rejected a permanent move there in favour of remaining at Anfield. He’d spent the previous season on Wearside, scoring 7 in 32, in his joint-highest goal tally for a single season ever.
Now, though, he could be on his way back permanently. Previous reports from Tony Barrett of The Times suggested that the fee could be comprised of an initial £8-million fee, with an extra £2 million in add-ons.
Borini’s played 38 times in all competitions for Liverpool since his move from Roma three years ago, scoring three times.
