Sunderland’s new dynamic midfield maestro Yann M’Vila is the 4th best signing in the Premier League this summer. That’s according to WhoScored statistics at least! The Frenchman has been in superb form since his season-long loan move from Rubin Kazan this summer.

M’Vila was once tipped to be the next big thing in French football, and was expected to establish himself as the anchor man of the French national team midfield. However, his career since leaving Rennes in France has taken a downturn and now M’Vila appears to be proving himself once again on the grandest stage of them all.

The Frenchman has secured a WhoScored.com rating of 7.47 in three appearances, with impressive figures of four tackles and 2.7 interceptions per game. While no team-mate has created more chances (five), a superb 40-yeard pass to Jermain Defoe against Aston Villa springs to mind. His superb free-kick against Villa at the weekend showcased M’Vila’s undoubted quality and if he can maintain his early season form then his arrival will likely be one of the key areas in the Black Cats’ ambitions this season.
