Greetings from Read Man City! I’m Josh Lawless and I am here to give my take on the big Capital One Cup clash at the Stadium of Light.
What can you expect from City:
It’s hard to really say what City will turn up at Sunderland. We were on a real roll winning our first five games of the season before coming unstuck in the Champions League with Juventus and then tasting defeat at home to West Ham on Saturday. I would, however, expect City to get back on song in this game, and resume normal service.
Key player: Kevin De Bruyne
Vincent Kompany is out while it’s unclear whether Sergio Aguero or David Silva will feature. That means Kevin De Bruyne could be the main man in this game, following on from his superb performance against West Ham at the weekend.
Predicted Line-up:
Caballero, Sagna, Demichelis, Otamendi, Kolarov, Fernando, Toure, Roberts, De Bruyne, Sterling, Kelechi.
I think we will see a youthful-looking City side with a mix of first-teamers and a couple of young lads. Kelechi and Roberts could start while the likes of Pablo Maffeo and Manu Garcia are likely to be on the bench.
Read Man City’s prediction:
It won’t be an easy one for City as Sunderland really do need to put on a performance. That being said, I still think our quality will tell and we’ll win 3-1. Definitely bank on Rodwell or Johnson scoring for Sunderland though.
Sunderland 1-3 Manchester City
