Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat has remained defiant today in his pre-match conference as the pressure from the media and stands grows on the Dutch veteran. Following a winless September, Sunderland head into October already in the midst of a relegation battle with the Black Cats only registering two points in their opening seven league encounters, whilst also crashing out of the Capital One Cup.
However, despite a poor start Dick Advocaat has remained positive and has faith in his squad which he describes as ‘a better squad than last year’. The Dutchman has been touted by many media outlets as the first manager to leave their post this season, but Advocaat has remained defiant, expressing his passion for the club and it’s fans, whilst also saying he has no regrets about extending his stay on Wearside following a successful nine-game spell last year.

The former PSV man has also indicated that he will stick with his favored 4-3-3 formation for tomorrow’s visit of West Ham, with Advocaat keen on attacking football. Whilst Younes Kaboul is ruled out through injury, whilst DeAndre Yedlin may replace Patrick Van Aanholt at left back.
