According to the Sunderland Echo, the Black Cats have had interest from both home and abroad as their search for a manager continues following the resignation of Dick Advocaat.
Nigel Pearson was a name that was being heavily linked with the vacant position at the Stadium of Light as the ex-Leicester City boss is still without a job following his sacking at the King Power.
Scottish duo David Moyes and Sean Dyche were linked with the job in the early stages, but both have distanced themselves. Former Manchester United boss Davi Moyes is still at Real Sociedad and enjoying it whilst Sean Dyche is also in a job as boss of Burnley, a position he’s held since 2012.
Despite suggestions that no-one is interested in the job, the Premier League club have stated that they’ve had been contacted from managers both in England and abroad. Bookies favourite Sam Allardyce has expressed concern about taking the job.
