Allardyce ‘feels loved’ at Sunderland

Newly-appointed Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce say that he feels loved at Sunderland, having had a torrid time towards the end of his spell managing West Ham. The former Newcastle manager has accused Hammer’s fans of ‘moaning’, and insists that his predecessors in East London suffered the same treatment as he did.

He says that his wife is much happier to have a friendly fan base behind her husband, as she was frequently upset by the hate Allardyce could receive of fans message boards at his former roles. The 61-year-old also hopes that he can bring excitement to Black Cat’s fans, after their dire seasons of late.

Allardyce’s first managerial role was with Preston North End in 1992, where he managed for 12 games, before his sacking. he then moved onto Blackpool where he managed over 100 games, before being relieved of his duties. He then moved onto Notts County for 145 games, before being poached by Bolton Wanderers. It was there that he managed more games than anywhere else during his managerial career. He left the club in search of winning silverware and began an eight-month spell with Sunderland’s rivals, Newcastle. He moved onto Blackburn after that, and managed 86 games, before his surprise sacking by new owners, Venky’s. He then spent four years at West Ham, before taking a short sabbatical and then joining Sunderland.
