Sam Allardyce is going to take a look at three of his former West Ham players as he looks to strengthen his squad, per HITC sport.
Carlton Cole, Kevin Nolan and Ricardo Vaz Te are all free agents and HITC say they’ll each be offered the chance to train with Sunderland so Allardyce can cast a closer eye over them.
With the transfer window closed, Sunderland can’t bring in any player who is registered to a club. However, they are permitted to bring in free agents, and these three players could be brought in as a way for Allardyce to strengthen his squad in the short term.

Carlton Cole was recently training with Celtic, Vaz Te was at West Brom and Kevin Nolan has been linked to a variety of different teams.
Allardyce obviously knows all three very well and if they do impress him, it would no surprise to see at least one signed by the Black Cats.
