This weekend’s football action brings us the infamous North East Derby. Sunderland play hosts to their neighbours Newcastle with the home side hoping to become the first side to win 6 games on the bounce against their North East opponent.
Sunderland come into the game somehow still searching for their first win of the season, whereas The Magpies have just won their first game of the season, defeating Norwich 6-2.
If (hopefully) Sunderland can defeat the Geordies, Sam Allardyce will become the 4th manager in a row to get his first win as manager in the second game, all of which have been against Newcastle. All of Di Canio, Poyet and Advocaat managed the same feat, so Allardyce could continue the tradition, whilst breaking the record for most derbies won in a row.
Here are the 3 best and one of the worst over the recent years. No one wants to read about the bad games.
