Sunderland travel to Merseyside this Sunday to take on an Everton side who have begun the season in reasonable form. The Black Cats were able to secure their first win of the season in last weekend’s Tyne-Wear derby in a convincing 3-0 victory over their nearest rivals Newcastle United.
A return to form for Adam Johnson will please Sunderland fans and he is expected to keep his place following his derby heroics. However, Fabio Borini, Younes Kaboul, Jack Rodwell and captain John O’Shea are all injury doubts for Sunday’s trip West.
