Sam Allardyce is on the road to survival with the Mackems, and the players are convinced that they are all aboard Big Sam’s bus, according to the Sunderland Echo.
The 61 year-old has took charge of three games for the Black Cats now, and with three points under his belt he will be hoping to create a more consistent run of form. He may have lifted them off the bottom of the table in recent weeks, but they still remain favourites to go down, and it seems that it will take yet another miracle to save the struggling Wearsiders.
It’s believed the experienced manager has began to use sports science and video analysis into preparations, which he is very well-renowned for from past clubs. This is a small part of the key to his success.

I haven’t done a points target, in terms of what the total is that we’ll need. I’m in the middle of doing a presentation for the lads on how to get to a safe position in the league and what it’ll take to get there. It’s a far bigger demand than just finishing fourth bottom. We’ll do that as soon as we can get it sorted out, but probably after the international break.
Manager and fans alike, we were hoping to defeat the curse of not taking consecutive three points after defeating Newcastle, yet it seemed far from over as Allardyce’s men fell to a 6-2 defeat at Goodison Park. But the next 5 meetings – Southampton, Crystal Palace, Stoke, Arsenal and Watford – are what he wants to be judged on.

From our point of view, we’ve played 3 games and got 3 points, and got 5 games to go. At the end of that five games, we have to have better than double figures. That’s what I’m looking for.
