Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe thinks his team have enough going forward to stave off the threat of relegation, according to the mirror.
After both netting in the 6-2 loss at Everton on Sunday, himself and Steven Fletcher have now banged in 10 between them already this season.
And the former England striker believes his partnership with the Scotland international can haul Sunderland out of the relegation places.
“The last two games, with me and Fletcher up front, it feels we have played together for a long time. He is on fire at the moment, he is strong.” Defoe said.

At the other end of the pitch, Sunderland have now conceded an almighty 25 goals this season, the most in the Premier League.
But Defoe believes if Allardyce’s men were to shore things up at the back, they would be a completely different proposition.
“The manager is experienced enough and he knows what he needs to do and the team he needs to pick. We need to score to win, but we can’t concede like we did last week.” The striker said.
“If we start like we did against Everton and be solid, we can get three points.” He added.
When asked about England under-21’s winger, the new boy on the block Duncan Watmore, the 33-year-old claims he is unplayable at times.
“He is a nice boy and works had in training. No defender wants to play against someone who gets the ball and just drives forward.”
Fans on Wearside will be hoping Defoe, Fletcher and Watmore can fire the black cats to glory and beat the drop once again this campaign.
Sunderland welcome in-form Southampton at the Stadium of Light this weekend.
