Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce will have money to spend in January to bolster his squad, according to the Daily Star.
The Black Cats have conceded the most goals in the Premier League so far this season (26), and Allardyce is desperate to bring in some new faces to shore up his defence.
And owner Ellis Short has assured the 61-year-old he will be able to bring in at least two new players when the transfer window opens back up in January.
Olympiacos defender Arthur Masuaku is reportedly on Big Sam’s wish-list, as well as West Ham defender James Collins, who played under Allardyce when he was in charge at Upton Park.

Masuaku, has been a regular in the Olympiacos side since he joined the Greek club from Valenciennes in July 2014, featuring 35 times.
But now four points adrift of safety, will Sunderland be able to attract the likes of Champions League players such as Masuaku?
Sunderland’s next outing is away to Crystal Palace a week on Monday, and Allardyce will be hoping a change in fortunes for his side as they look to claw their way out the relegation zone.
