Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt is set to join Championship side Leeds United on a loan deal that will last until January.
The deadline for loan deals is 5pm this evening, and according to James Hunter of the Chronicle, the 26-year-old will join the Yorkshire club.
There was talk initially that Bridcutt, who has one cap for Scotland, would join Cardiff City on loan, but after a meeting with Leeds’ manager Steve Evans yesterday evening, it appears that he’s now decided to reject the move to the Welsh capital in favour of joining the Elland Road side.

According to Hunter, the midfielder has accepted that he has no future at Sunderland. Despite a poor start to the Black Cats season, Bridcutt has failed to make a single first-team appearance with both Dick Advocaat and Sam Allardyce seemingly not impressed enough to give him a chance.
Sunderland will look to sell Bridcutt in the near future, but until then, he’ll be allowed to leave on loan, maybe to put him in the shop window?
