Sunderland lost 3-1 to Arsenal today, but the scoreline did not tell the whole story, with the Black Cats matching the Gunners all over the pitch.
Arsenal opened the scoring through Joel Campbell after a nice reverse pass from Mesut Ozil who was impressive all afternoon. On the stroke of half-time, the Black Cats were back in the game when Olivier Giroud turned the ball into his own net following a smart free-kick from Yann M’Vila. After the break, Arsenal were the more clinical with their chances with Giroud scoring in the right end before Aaron Ramsey secured all three points in the final minutes.
