According to recent reports, the Hammers are open to offers for centre-back James Tomkins, and Sam Allardyce is supposedly first in the queue to get the defender, writes the Chronicle Live.
Allardyce worked with Tomkins during his time in London and is looking to reunite with him over this January transfer window. The 26-year-old will cost any suitors around £10 million, and the East London side are happy to listen to offers.
Although Tomkins has made 18 appearances for Slaven Bilic’s side this season, it is believed the Englishman is the third choice in his preferred centre-back position.

Allardyce has however said that loan deals will be the preferred option for this transfer window, maybe ruling out a permanent move for Tomkins until next season. A more probable move may be for Tomkins’ team-mate James Collins, who has fell down the pecking order massively under West Ham’s new rule.
Elsewhere in the field of transfers, a Summer target, Sam Byram, has recently rejected a contract from his current club Leeds United.
It was reported that Leeds are very keen in keeping the 22-year-old full-back a Leeds player next season, however, the young prospects contract is ending in the coming months, and could be a fantastic acquisition for Sam Allardyce, who reportedly kept an eye on the youngster when he managed West Ham.
