After a chilly afternoon on Wearside, the result followed pattern with the weather. Sunderland lost by a goal to nil at home to Watford through an early Odion Ighalo goal, and some may argue it could have well been more for the Nigerian after squandering two great chances in the second half.
Other than that, the last 45 minutes were dominated by the Mackems, Defoe and Rodwell forcing good saves out of Gomes in-between the Hornets’ sticks, but the massive amount of chances wasted would be rued by Sam Allardyce’s men as they failed to win yet again.
Here’s what ReadSunderland rated the player’s on a grim afternoon in the North East.
