Chelsea welcomed Guus Hiddink to Stamford Bridge with a 3-1 victory over the Black Cats, who were once again largely responsible for their own downfall. Poor marking from Sebastian Coates led to Chelsea taking an early two goal lead, before Costel Pantilimon conceded a penalty that Oscar duly converted.
Duncan Watmore went close for the visitors, with Fabio Borini tapping in a late consolation to score his first goal for the club since 2014.
Manager Sam Allardyce is prepared to completely change the Black Cats system to try and stop the rot and Read Sunderland predicts the team that Sam could play against Manchester City on Boxing Day.
