Sunderland take on Aston Villa on Saturday in what is an absolutely crucial relegation clash for the two sides. The Black Cats sit 19th in the table with 12 points – 7 away from safety – whilst the Villains are still in single figures.
There are huge injury concerns for the Black Cats. Younes Kaboul and Sebastian Larsson remain on the sidelines, whilst Jack Rodwell and Sebastian Coates limped off during the Liverpool defeat. Wes Brown is unlikely to be able to play two games in such quick succession, but captain John O’Shea is likely to return.
