Premier League side Sunderland are ready to move for Queens Park Rangers midfielder Sandro this month as Sam Allardyce looks to add to his squad, according to the Daily Mirror.
The English boss wants to increase his squad depth as the Black Cats enter the second half of the season tussling at the bottom of the Premier League table, with relegation becoming a realistic prospect.
With Jack Rodwell sidelined again alongside Sebastian Larsson, Allardyce has pinpointed Sandro as the man to change his side’s fortunes.
The 61-year-old boss believes that he will be able to get a cut-price deal for the Brazilian international, with the Hoops desperate to lower their excessive wage bill.
Having made just 11 league appearances for QPR this term, Sandro is looking to return to the top flight and show his worth after an unimpressive stint with Tottenham.
Sunderland have also been linked with a move for Sandro’s in-demand teammate Charlie Austin this transfer window.
