Sunderland star striker Jermain Defoe will only leave Wearside this transfer window if boss Sam Allardyce gets an offer good enough for the club, writes Sky Sports.
The Sunderland boss said this amidst reports Bournemouth were once again scouting the former England striker, who scored 19 goals for The Cherries in a loan spell 15 years ago, however, the new manager has said he has not received any offers.

Allardyce said:
“We haven’t had a bid for him, for one, and I suppose if I had had a bid for him, I’d have probably turned it down – unless it was that big a bid that the owner had told me, ‘This bid is so big, Sam, that we can’t afford to turn it down’, and every club has that scenario.
The Sunderland manager has also spoke of his heroics as a lone striker against Aston Villa, and expects the experienced attacker to continue in this role, clashing with those who believe he plays better with a supporting forward.
It’s hard to disagree with him, with nine goals in 17 appearances over all competitions for the Black Cats this season, he is already beating last seasons contributions, where he scored four in 19 appearances; along with the best shot accuracy in the 2015/16 campaign, the accomplished number 18 is far from losing his clinical nature.
The former Tottenham man joined Sunderland last January from MLS side Toronto FC, in a deal which we suspect was a straight swap for former striker Jozy Altidore; a bargain in its own right.
