Shanghai Shenhua are lining up a bid for striker Steven Fletcher, according to the Daily Mail.
The 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer, scoring 4 goals so far this term.
The Chinese club are already in talks with rivals Newcastle for the Magpies central midfielder Cheick Tiote.
That could mean Fletcher potentially linking up alongside Tiote soon if a deal is agreed with the Black Cats for the Scottish international.

Manager Sam Allardyce is likely to be reluctant to sell because he will want as many attacking options for the fight to avoid relegation. But if a replacement is found then he may decide to cash in on Fletcher who has scored 23 goals in 86 appearances.
One name who could be on his way into Allardyce’s squad is Trabzonspor’s Dame N’Doye whilst Danny Graham has been linked with a loan move away from the Stadium of Light on loan.
Should a sizeable offer be made, then it will be a big call to let him go because a goalscorer that Fletcher has proved to be is the type of player that will keep Sunderland up come the end of the season.
