Sunderland have completed the signing of Trabzonspor’s Senegalese international Dame N’Doye on a loan deal until the end of the season with a purchase option.
N’Doye becomes Allardyce’s second signing of the month – this time a striker.
The 30-year-old brings with him an impressive Premier League record of 5 Premier League goals in 15 appearances for Hull City last season and has even more impressive statistics for Lokomotiv Moscow and Copenhagen, but has failed to score for his current club Trabzonspor.
He will compete with Jermain Defoe, Fabio Borini, Duncan Watmore and Steven Fletcher for the central striking role, with Danny Graham expected to depart before the end of the transfer window.
At the towering height of over 6 feet, N’Doye may well be the perfect target man for Allardyce’s preferred long ball style and could prove to be a valuable partner for Jermain Defoe.
N’Doye netted against the Black Cats for Hull City in the 1-1 draw at the KC Stadium last season, with Jack Rodwell scoring a late equaliser.
