Sunderland winger Will Buckley has secured a temporary move away from the Stadium of Light as a one-month loan move to Championship side Birmingham City was confirmed earlier today.
It has been a disappointing couple of years for Buckley, who has failed to really live up to his expectations in a Sunderland shirt since his arrival in 2014 from Brighton for a fee of £2.5 million.
The 26-year-old is yet to feature for Sunderland so far this season due to a lack of fitness coinciding with the Black Cats’ changing managers with Dick Advocaat leaving the club and being replaced with Sam Allardyce. This has meant a lack of chances for Buckley has been the situation that has led to a move away.
It comes as no surprise to see Buckley leave the club for a short spell of time as it is looking highly unlikely that the former-Seagulls man has a future with the club, meaning that a move back to the Championship could be beneficial to his career.
Are you happy to see Buckley temporarily leave?
