Sport Witness have wrote that Sunderland representatives will attend a match in the Netherlands today to watch FC Utrecht attacker Sebastian Haller.
The French striker has been in fantastic form for his club this season, with 11 goals in 16 appearances for the mid-table side, and will be looking to beat last season’s tally of 11 against Groningen today.

He also boasts 12 caps for the French U21 side, alongside seven goals for his country, the youngster will supposedly cost the Mackems around £7 million.
It is understood that Norwich are also keen on the 21-year-old, however, the player’s agent is the only man stopping his move to the Premier League from happening, as he believes his client should be playing European football:
“We did indeed visit Norwich’s facilities yesterday, and Utrecht’s leaders have good relations with those at Norwich.
“But Sebastian is not expected to join Norwich. We are targeting a club who plays in Europe. If a club that plays Europe proposes something and closes things with Utrecht, a departure this winter is possible.”
This does effectively rule out the possibility of him joining Sunderland, however, when you look at player’s such as Memphis Depay who scored 22 goals in the Eredivisie before moving to Manchester United, you can’t help but point out it has been a poor season for the youngster.
It seems as if the player wants and deserves European football, but if there are no keen suitors, Sunderland may be able to hijack Norwich’s deal for the French prospect should he be desperate to leave the Dutch side this transfer window.
