According to ChronicleLive, Spanish side Espanyol are extremely interested in taking Costel Pantilimon to Catalonia. Pantilimon has recently fell down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light and may fancy his chances in La Liga.

RCD Espanyol’s new manager Constantin Galca is believed to be a huge fan of the 6′ 8″ keeper and they also are from the same nation, Romania. At the moment, current Espanyol keeper Francesco Bardi is only on loan at the club from Inter Milan so therefore the club are said to be in the market in order to find a permanent number 1, and Costel Pantilimon ticks all their boxes.
Pantilimon arrived at The Stadium of Light from Manchester City in 2014 but this season has struggled to nail down the number 1 spot due to the emergence of Jordan Pickford and the challenge of Vito Mannone.
Sam Allardyce has admitted the players will have to leave if Sunderland want to continue to do business during this window. He also said it is likely tha tone of either Pantilimon or Mannone will make their exit during this transfer window.

‘It depends on how the situation develops as the month goes on. One may find it more difficult than the other if they are not playing and may say they want a move.’
