Striker Expected To Stay At Sunderland

Fabio Borini is expected to stay at Sunderland despite the speculation about in-form Swansea striker Andre Ayew coming to The Stadium of Light as part of a swap deal with the Italian.

The Sunderland Echo are reporting that Sunderland are still interested in signing Ayew but insist that they want Borini to stay at Sunderland also. Andre Ayew is one of the league’s in-form strikers, netting 7 times in 21 games for Swansea this season.

Borini is said to be frustrated with the lack of playing time he has received under Sam Allardyce yet is happy to remain at Sunderland and fight for his place in the side. Borini arrived at Sunderland permanently in 2015 and has previously represented Liverpool and AS Roma. The 25-year-old Italian has scored 9 goals for The Black Cats.

Despite Sunderland’s interest Andre Ayew it is unlikely that the Welsh side will be willing to let of Ayew for a good price. Ayew only arrived at Swansea in the summer and is their key attacker. Ayew is said to be open to a move north but Swansea will be looking for a big pay out for his services.
