Wahbi Khazri has said why he thinks that Sunderland’s latest signings have adapted so well to life in the Premier League.
In January, Sunderland made four new signings, all from outside the Premier League.
Wahbi Khazri, Lamine Kone, Jan Kirchhoff and Dam N’Doye all joined the Black Cats, with N’Doye being the only player with Premier League experience, having spent last season playing for Hull City.
When speaking to the Sunderland Echo, Khazri explained that the football in this country is very different to the football in Ligue 1, the league he was playing in prior to joining Sunderland.
It’s intensive the football in this country, whereas in France it’s more tactical and defensive. Here it’s more open and the teams are more attack-minded.

Khazri also said that he believes that the English style of football is right for him, which has helped his development. He also believes it is right for his fellow new signings.
I think it suits me, and I think it’s the same for the other new boys, because we’ve all settled in really well. Hopefully that continues.
Sunderland currently sit 19th in the Premier League, a point away from safety. Their next game is an away clash against West Ham.
