Lynden Gooch will now be staying at Doncaster Rovers until the end of the season after his loan was extended, as confirmed by the club website.
The 20-year-old striker, who is a youth international for the USA, has already made five appearances for Doncaster since signing on a temporary deal last month. He has now impressed enough to get a new deal which will keep him at the club until May.
Gooch started his career in California when he played for the Santa Cruz Breakers Academy and his potential attracted the attention of plenty of European clubs before signing for Sunderland in 2013.
While Gooch is yet to make a senior appearance for the Black Cats, he did have a loan spell before his move to Doncaster. He made the short trip to Vanarama National side Gateshead in 2015 where he made 7 appearances and scored one goal.
And while Gooch is yet to score for Doncaster, he’ll hope to do so soon.
