Sunderland loanee Dame N’Doye is hoping to play a large part in the relegation battle as the Black Cats look to secure survival for yet another season in the Premier League.
N’Doye is yet to bag his first goal on Wearside since his January move from Trabzonspor, and N’Doye is eyeing a permanent move away from the Turkish League in the summer.
“At the moment, it’s about the team and staying in the Premier League. For myself, we’ll see what happens after that. The Turkish league is good, but I just didn’t adapt there. That was the reason why I left.”
The Senegalese forward has made three appearances for the Black Cats in an unorthodox wide position but N’Doye told the Sunderland Echo that he is willing to play anywhere for the team.
“I follow the coach. If he needs me there (wide), it is no problem for me. It’s not that I don’t mind where I play, but it is where the team needs me. The way we are now, we need someone to play out wide and we have to deal with that.”
With the Black Cats entering the final stretch of the 2015/16 season, N’Doye is confident that the squad can rally together and push for survival.
“There’s a good atmosphere in the dressing room and the lads are very focused,” he added. They have a strong mentality that they will stay up, which is the most important thing.”
