Sunderland are fighting for the signature of Feyenoord’s 21-year-old midfielder Tonny Vilhena, according to reports from The Mail.
Vilhenna’s contract will expire at the end of the season, and multiple clubs are looking to pounce on the hot prospect.
Sunderland face tough competition to sign the Netherlands U21 international. League leaders Leicester City reportedly considered bidding for him in January, and Swansea, West Brom, and Southampton are all keeping a close eye.

Vilhena plays in central midfield but can also play in a central attacking midfield role and has made 25 appearances for the Dutch club in 2015/16. He has scored five times this season. Since signing his first professional contract in 2012, Vilhenna has made 136 appearances for ‘De club aan de Maas’.
Sunderland sit in 17th, only outside the relegation zone on goal difference. Their next fixture is a home clash with Stoke City, where they will look to pull clear of 18th placed Norwich City.
