Sam Allardyce is considering making a player-plus-cash offer to Bristol City in order to bring giant defender Aden Flint to the Stadium of Light.
The 6’5″ centre-back was in good form last season for The Robins as they avoided relegation and apparently caught the eye of scouts from Premier League teams such as Everton and West Brom, as well as the Black Cats.
According to a report from the Bristol Post, Allardyce is willing to use right-back Adam Matthews as part of his offer to City for their 26-year-old defender, but Lee Johnson is keen to keep him at Ashton Gate.

Matthews had a good loan spell with the Robins last year and Johnson is a fan of his but despite needing a right-back, he’s apparently not keen to sacrifice Flint in order to acquire one.
Allardyce is looking to provide both cover and competition for Lamine Kone, John O’Shea, and Wes Brown and apparently sees Flint as the man for the job.
