Spanish club Real Betis look set to make a £5 million profit on former Sunderland midfielder Alfred N’Diaye, according to the Sunderland Echo.
The Senegal international joined the Black Cats for £3 million in 2013 in Martin O’Neill’s last transfer window, only to be shipped out on loan by both Paolo Di Canio and Gus Poyet – with the Uruguayan later selling the player to Betis permanently for £1 million.
Poyet is now in charge of Real Betis and once again is looking to offload the defensive midfielder, who will join Villareal for £6.5 million.
Many Sunderland fans wanted the 6′ 2″ man to be given a second chance on Wearside before he was sold, but the 26-year-old was not given it. Not it seems as though he has had the last laugh, as his club are about to make a sizeable profit on him. You can’t help but feel what could have been had N’Diaye stayed on Wearside.
N’Diaye has made eight appearances for the Senegal national team, scoring once.
