Sunderland have joined West Brom and Swansea City in declaring an interest in signing Lorient striker Benjamin Moukandjo, according to a report from Simon Jones of The Mail.
The 27-year-old scored 13 goals in 31 Ligue 1 games last season and he has apparently caught the eye of Albion’s recruitment staff.
With Jermain Defoe the only complete striker on the books at Sunderland, the Black Cats need to find some new additions in forward areas and Moukandjo has apparently been identified as a possible target.

Lorient apparently value the Cameroonian international at £8million, which is well within Sunderland’s price range.
The Black Cats have also been linked with a move for West Ham’s Diafra Sakho, who has handed in a transfer request at the Hammers.
Whether a deal for Moukandjo would be in addition to, or instead of a move for the Senegalese star is unknown at this time.
