Sunderland will reveal their away kit for the upcoming season against Borussia Dortmund on Friday, the club have confirmed.
The Lads will wear the new strip for the first time against the German legends in the Black Cats’ final pre-season fixture, which will be streamed live and for free on the club’s website.
The red and white home kit was revealed at the end of last season and has been popular amongst the supporters. On a personal note, I think it is probably the best home strip we’ve had since Adidas took over the contract.
A third kit was revealed earlier this year as well, with the unusual combination of pink and purple hoops being chosen – complemented by purple shorts and socks with pink Adidas stripes. This has sold well in the club’s merchandise stores – particularly with women – which has perhaps led to the delay in the launch of the away strip.
Rumours on social media suggest the away kit will be white with a purple sash across the chest, but we don’t have long to wait to see if the rumours are true!
Dafabet will continue as the Black Cats’ main kit sponsor for a second season, whilst the Adidas logo and trademark three stripes will also accompany the club crest.
