According to the Daily Mail, Sunderland’s chief scout Mick Doherty watched Norwich forward Steven Naismith play at the weekend.
The report says that Doherty was at the match on Saturday to watch Naismith play against Blackburn at Ewood Park.
Norwich won 4-1, with Steven Naismith thoroughly impressing. He scored the fourth goal for Norwich, capping over a fantastic team move with a neat finish.

Naismith has come out and said that he is happy to stay at Norwich this season and is ready to commit to the cause and help the club gain promotion this season.
Although, a move back to the Premier League could sway his mind.
New Sunderland manager David Moyes knows Naismith well, having signed him for Everton.
He is now looking for a potential reunion, with Naismith surely having impressed Doherty on Saturday.
Sunderland could now be preparing a bid for the midfielder, who joined from Everton in January for £8.5m.
