According to a recent report from Pericos, Sunderland are closing in on a move for experienced Spanish right-back Alvaro Arbeloa.
It’s no secret that Sunderland are looking to strengthen their defence and this is likely to start with a new right-back signing before the end of the summer transfer window.
David Moyes has already added Papy Djilobodji, Paddy McNair and Donald Love to his squad since his arrival and he will look to bolster his defensive options with Arbeloa.

The 33-year-old is claimed to be close to signing for Sunderland on a free transfer after his contract with Spanish giants Real Madrid came to an end this summer.
Arbeloa has played 56 times for his country and would provide a wealth of experience to the Sunderland squad, with a massively difficult season ahead.
Arbeloa has been linked with Newcastle United in recent times but the lure of Premier League football and Sunderland’s desire for a new right-back will surely be the key factor in a move for the Spaniard.
