It’s been all change at the Stadium of Light this summer and we can hardly expect the chopping and changing to stop anytime soon as David Moyes continues to experiment with his squad and continues to look for reinforcements.
Whether it be the people at the very top altering components within the club or the players moving on or expressing a desire to move on, a transitional summer has been endured once again by the ever-loyal Sunderland faithful.
Papy Djilobodji, Donald Love and Paddy McNair have all been brought in since Moyes’ arrival and it’s safe to say that the defence has been the main focus of the Scotsman when it’s came to recruitment this summer.
However, things do not look too bright in the midfield area, either.

Undoubtedly, Sunderland have a wealth of good midfielders. However, injury problems are hitting them hard and fast – more reinforcements could be needed.
Seb Larsson has unfortunately been ruled out for up to six months due to ligament damage, the fitness of Jan Kirchhoff is very much up for debate, Lee Cattermole has a hernia problem and the permanent signing of Yann M’Vila continues to have its complexities.
