According to reports in Holland, as reported by Goal, Sunderland are one of many clubs considering a move for Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost.
The Netherlands international striker is set to leave the Bundesliga this summer and is attracting plenty of interested, with Sunderland being the latest Premier League club to be linked with his signature.
It’s likely that Dost will depart Wolfsburg this summer given the German club’s signing of German international Mario Gomez this summer, meaning that the towering Dutchman has been pushed even further down the pecking order at the club.

However, they will need to fend off firm competition from Championship side Aston Villa if they are to make a serious move for Dost, as Goal reports that they have already came in with a concrete offer for his services.
The report also claims that Dost is a target for Newcastle and it has previously been reported that the Dutchman has been courted by Southampton.
It was also previously claimed that Dost came out and said himself that a move to the Premier League and a move to the south coast with Claude Puel’s men would be an attractive proposition, but no further movement on a bid has been made as of yet apart from Aston Villa’s.
