According to an emerging report from the Daily Mail this evening, Sunderland have been dealt another blow in their hunt for a new striker, with bids for Danny Ings and Jay Rodriguez being turned down.
Both players are considerably out-of-favour at their respective clubs after returning from long-term knee injuries, leading to the possibility of loan moves for the pair.
The former Burnley duo have returned to full fitness and are now looking to get back into the swing of things with Premier League football.

However, the chase goes on for David Moyes as he looks for striking reinforcements, with Liverpool and Southampton, respectively, turning away the Scotsman’s approaches.
Rodriguez in particular, will be no stranger to Sunderland and their fans after the one-time England international dealt a cruel late blow to them in a 1-1 draw against Saints on Saturday, as the forward struck from distance to level the scoring.
Moyes’ hunt for a new forward drags on!
