Sunderland have completed the deadline day signing of Manchester City defender Jason Denayer on a season-long loan deal. The deal was confirmed by the club late on Wednesday night, with the Black Cats eager to get reinforcements.
The Belgian international was part of their Euro 2016 squad but has found himself surplus to requirements under Pep Guardiola and has been allowed to depart on loan. Denayer will undergo a medical tomorrow after the window has shut, which is risky business from Sunderland.

Teams such as Galatasaray, Celtic and West Brom were rumoured to be interested in Denayer but it is Sunderland who have won the race for the defender who will add competition to David Moyes’ backline.
