According to an emerging report from GFFN this evening, Sunderland have made a late approach for Bordeaux goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso.
It comes as no surprise to see David Moyes’ men scouting around for a new shot-stopper in the closing stages of the summer transfer window, with Jordan Pickford the only senior goalkeeper available to him.
Sunderland are in desperate need of goalkeeping options after it was confirmed that Vito Mannone would miss a few months of the season through an elbow injury sustained in training a couple of weeks ago.

Carrasso has represented France at international level and will provide a safe pair of hands through his experience and pedigree of European football, if Sunderland are to seal a deal for the ‘keeper.
The report says that The Black Cats have entered talks with Carrasso and Bordeaux over a potential move this evening, but whether the ‘keeper himself is interested in the move is yet to be seen.
