Sunderland vs West Bromwich Albion.
Saturday, 1 October, Stadium of Light.
Kick off: 15:00pm.
Referee: Stuart Attwell
David Moyes’ Sunderland welcome the arrival of Tony Pulis’ West Brom, with the former still awaiting for the first three points of the season. The illusive win has escaped Wearside in August and September, however the first game of October could be the start the Black Cats need to kick start their Premier League season.
On paper, not much separate both teams however the table divides the sides greatly. Sunderland are currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table on one point, West Brom have life easier at 10th place on eight points.
A win for Sunderland could see the Wearsiders move to 17th position, away from the drop-zone, slightly. But a win for West Bromwich Albion could see the side move to an impressive 7th position and slowly creeping up to that European spot.
Both teams have met each other in competition a staggering 154 times, Sunderland have won 57 games, lost 43 and drawn 54. Therefore history is on the luck of Sunderland. However Sunderland have only accounted one win in the last 10 meetings with the visitors, with the last coming in 2014, 7th of May, in a two nil home victory.
