Things don’t look good again as a Sunderland fan, the same old story is tiring everyone on wearside out. The story goes as follows; start poorly, sack manager, hire a new manager, start to get points in the last games of the season to stay up.
This article comes in the mist of a comment made by footballing pundit Jamie Carragher, on Sky Sports, saying: “I have a bit of a problem with Sunderland I must say, doing a lap of honour for staying up.”
As a fan and a reporter I find myself agreeing with the statement, I am, however, a person that opposes to negativity, especially in a game where anything can happen, but over 40,000 fans should, now after 8 years in the Premier League, expect something other than battling relegation.
Rewind back to 2008 in which American business man Ellis Short took over controlling interests of a recently promoted Sunderland side, the future looked bright, but since we are exactly where we started, but now we aren’t the new team hoping for Premier League safety, we are an experienced Premier League side that should be away from the battles of Premier League drop zone.
